I vacationed last week on North Captiva Island in southwest Florida. After going full steam the last several months, I completely checked out, and took each moment as it unfolded. I read recently on a Writer’s blog not to feel guilty when you’re not writing; But if you’re not, you better be living a life you can write about later. That I did indeed.
I tented in a spot bordering the beach, and woke each morning to the sound of a gentle breeze playing through the palms like a windchime. I caught up with family and friends, and made memorable connections with a few locals. I paused for the sunset and rose early to marvel and its rise. I cried; I laughed; I shared; But mostly, I reconnected.
Life is amazing.
