A woman purchased one of my framed prints yesterday at the Norfolk Farmer’s Market. Although I’ve sold a few before, this time was different because it was to a stranger, who had no other influence over making the purchase other than to have admired it.

The flood of emotion I experienced as she shared how the image spoke to her caught me by surprise, and I broke out in tears. For a stranger to appreciate something that was also very meaningful to me, was an immense compliment. Even so, I was extremely embarrassed by my emotional reaction, and quickly tried to gather myself. Those who know me well can attest that I’m not one to cry; Certainly not in public.

When I set out on this venture over two years ago, I wanted the opportunity to share what I found exciting and beautiful in the world with others. Everything I create, from the granola, to the articles I write, to the moments I capture in a print and on video, is an expression of that mission. In that moment yesterday, more than ever before, I knew I was exactly where I’m intended to be.
