When I’m hurt or offended by the actions of another, it’s often because they didn’t behave in a manner that I would expect of myself; But, that doesn’t mean their actions, or inactions, were from a place of bad intention. Likewise, even when I believe that I’ve behaved in a manner appropriate for the circumstance, it doesn’t mean others will too.
A humbling truth of the human condition is that we are all capable of hurting those we love, even with our best intentions. That’s because, what may seem important, courteous, and fair to me, may not be the same for someone else. However, to understand that my actions may present negatively to others, has made me more tolerant, understanding, and forgiving, of others.
To that end, if you believe in karma, like I do…
To wish negative karma upon others, is to wish it upon yourself. You see, that’s how karma works. It’s based on YOUR intentions and actions. So, even if you believe someone did you wrong, if their actions were genuinely from a place of good intention, karma will return to them in a good way; But, your wish for them to experience something bad, will only return the bad onto you.
Many people don’t get that.
