There’s much research that supports how praying, or wishing the best for others, can have a scientifically measurable effect on an outcome. Conversely, negative thoughts projected towards others, can also impact the circumstances created for them, or so I believe.
Many of us understand that when those around us do well, it raises us all. Consequently, wishing the best for others, even those who may have done us wrong, will eventually feed into the goodness of the collective. Still, there are those who struggle to escape their internal misery, and prefer when others join in the angst. Little do they know, that eventually karma will return the sentiment we wish onto others, which is why we should choose our thoughts wisely.
On Oprah’s Super Soul podcast, one of the questions she commonly asks her guests is what lesson has taken them the longest to learn. For me, it was realizing that not everyone will wish the best for me. Albeit only a few, it’s enough that I’ve learned to share the best parts of my story with only those who have earned a spot at my table.
