When my kids were little, I listened almost exclusively to country music. At the time, I was traveling 50+ miles to work, so Connecticut’s Country 92.5 got a lot of radio play. It was the first time since the 80 hair bands that I related to music again. I’d dance with my husband and young children in our living room to the likes of Kenny Chesney, Brooks & Dunn, George Strait, Brad Paisley and Montgomery Gentry, to name a few.
About three years ago, I took a break from the country music genre, because there weren’t any new artists that caught my fancy, and the seasoned artists were pumping out more of the same.
Then, last summer I got acquainted with Luke Combs, Brothers Osborne, Chris Stapleton, and more recently Ashley McBryde. I’ve been obsessed with her debut album “Girl Going Nowhere,” and this song especially, I can’t get out of my head. Sometimes a break is all you need to see things new again.
